Create a Lesson

All resources are embedded in lessons. You can align lessons with standards, and include multiple text blocks, eBooks, OERs, collections, and an assessment.

To create a lesson from an eBook:

  1. From the side-bar, do either of the following:
    • Click Explore, and then search for an eBook.
    • Under My CLASSES, select a class, and then on the RESOURCES tab, search for an eBook.
  2. Do either of the following:
    • On the desired eBook, click Add icon..
    • Click on the cover image, and then click Add to Lesson.
  1. In the pop-up, select the class you want to add a lesson to.
  2. Do either of the following:
    • Select an existing lesson.
    • Click Create Lesson, and type a name.
  1. Do either of the following:
    To add an entire eBookTo add part of an eBook
    • Click Add Entire eBook.
    1. Click Add & Select Content. The eBook opens.
    2. On the side-bar, under SELECT, click any of the following:
      • Entire Book
      • Chapter(s)
      • Text
    1. Then, either select a range or chapters, or click and drag to select a segment of text.
    2. Click Confirm Selection.

To create a lesson from a class:

  1. On the side-bar, under MY CLASSES, select a class.
  2. Do either of the following:
    • For a lesson in a unit, on the UNITS & LESSONS tab, click a unit name. Then, click Create Lesson.
    • For a standalone lesson, on the UNITS & LESSONS tab, click Create Lesson.
  1. Type a Name (required), Essential Questions, Objectives, and Lesson Description.

    Notes:

    • The Essential Questions, Objectives, and Lesson Description are optional. But, the more information you add, the better the resource recommendations MyDestiny can make.
    • If you create a lesson outside of a unit, you can move it into a unit folder. On the UNITS & LESSONS tab, select the checkbox next to the lesson you want to move, and then click Move.
  1. Click Create Lesson to add any of the following:
  2. Review the order of your lesson. To change the order, click Position next to the item you want to move, and then do one of the following:
    • Change the number to reflect where you want it to appear, and then press Enter.
    • On the right, under Content Reorder:, drag and drop the item into a new position.
  3. Then, you can assign your lesson to students.

Notes: To preview a lesson, do either of the following:

  • When looking at your lessons in a unit, select > Preview.
  • When looking at a lesson's details, click Preview Lesson.

While previewing your lesson:

  • To see your quiz, click Start Quiz.
  • To show quiz answers, select Menu More Options icon > Show Answers.
